As we celebrate Black History Month, it is a poignant time to reflect on the pioneers who defied odds, shattered barriers, and paved the way for increased diversity and inclusion across various fields. In the aviation industry, the contributions of two trailblazers, Ruth Carol Taylor and Margaret Grant, stand as a testament to courage and resilience.
As we honor their legacy, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact their courage and resilience had on my own journey. Having entered the skies as a flight attendant in 1987 with Piedmont Airlines and later retiring in 2008 (US Airways), I witnessed firsthand the transformative evolution of the airline industry into an even more diverse and inclusive landscape during the late '80s.
More to come..
